Advocate Bikram Sidhu, a Social Worker in Ludhiana pays his tribute to Chhote Sahibzade Baba Zorawar Singh, Baba Fateh Singh, and Mata Gujar Kaur Ji on their martyrdom day. He said there is no greater example of bravery and the protection of religion, in which the young princes, following the principles of the Guru's father and the teachings of the grandmother, confessed to being the living foundation for the religion.
The Life story of the third Son, of Maharaj Kalgidhar Sadguru Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj, was born to Mata Jito Ji (also known as Mata Sundari Ji) at Anandpur on November 28, 1696. He was scarcely nine years of age at the time of the evacuation of Anandpur on the evening of December 20, 1704, Since the passing of Mata Jito Ji on December 5, Zorawar's grandma, Mata Gujari, turned out to be particularly joined to youthful Zorawar Singh and his newborn child sibling, Fateh Singh. She took responsibility for the two kids as the segment moved out of Anandpur. While crossing the river Sirsa riding a horse, at that point in spate, the three were separated from Guru Gobind Singh. Their cook, Gangu, who had also succeeded in crossing the river, accompanied them to his own home in the town of Kheri, presently known as Saheri, close to Morinda in present-day Ropar District. While unsaddling the horse, Gangu saw that there were a few valuables in the saddlebag.
This tempted him to injustice. He not only stole the saddlebag during the evening, yet also betray the fugitives to the government in hope of a reward had reported about them to the Mughal authorities. They along with Grandmother Mata Gujri Ji kept in a jail named Thanda Burj for 2 days. They were also asked to change over their religion and accept Islam however the two of them stop and rejected all offers and accepted Death. The Young Sikhs were ordered to be sealed alive in a wall on December 25, 1704. According to the tradition, as the masonry around their delicate bodies arrived at chest high, it crumbled. The Sahibzade were sent to the Cold Tower again for the evening. The next day, December 26, 1704, after the option of transformation was turned down once more, Baba Zorawar Singh Ji and Baba Fateh Singh Ji were martyred by sealed alive in a wall. After some time It was cracked and Mughal's found them breathing The world's cruelest crime happened their they brutaly slaughtered two kids, The aged Mata Gujari Kaur Ji, who had from the start been kept in the Cold Tower just a little distance away, inhaled her last as the news reached her ears. Mata Gujari Kaur, through the childhood of her grandsons, played an important role in Sikhism and as Sikhs, we owe our existence to her.
It was because of her lessons that the 6-year-old Fateh Singh and 9-year-old Jorawar Singh didn't move from their Dharma and achieved martyrdom., hence proceeding and underlining the institute of martyrdom in Sikhism.
Mata Gujri Ji also gave a brilliant illustration to all mothers and grandmothers regarding how they ought to soak up great qualities of religion, penance, confidence, in the youthful personalities of their children and grandsons at a young age, and set up their minds and bodies to face challenges they are likely to look as they grow up. The example of Mata Gujri Ji is worth imitating by all mothers and grandmothers.
